How do you make your decisions?
Do you –
· Go by feel
· On impulse
· By instinct
· Procrastinate
· Keep changing it
· Ask everyone else what they would do
· By the stars
· Weigh up the pros and cons
· Rationalise
There are so many ways and each of those have our own individual flavour added to it.
Or maybe you think you can’t make decisions, or you hate making decisions.
Here’s the thing, whether you know it or not we are all always making decisions, even not making a decision is a decision, every hour, every day, and those decisions create the results in our life. So, if you love the life you have, the way you make your decisions clearly works for you. However, there is likely at least one area of your life that you would like a different or better result. Why do I say that? Because our thoughts and feelings are different for every situation, in every relationship and interaction, and they are what drive our action or non-action (decisions) and creates our results. Some feel their way, some people think their way, however, if you want to love your decisions and create the results you want in all areas of your life you will want to be consistent about how you make your decisions. To do that you need to be aware of both your thoughts and your feelings, so you can know and consider all of both for that particular circumstance or situation before you finalise your decision.
What does that even look like –
1. Know the decision you want to make.
2. Write down your thoughts about all the options.
3. For each of those options and thoughts check how you feel when you think them.
4. Notice each feeling and notice which one you want.
5. Ask yourself why do I want that?
6. When you come across the reason that holds the most integrity for you, that you know is right for you
7. That’s a decision you will love no matter what.
Loving your Decisions is about having a helpful process that consistently brings you the results you want because you can apply the same process to any decision any time, about anything.
